“I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but she who is not afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my cypresses.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Sunday Brunch Vol II. revisits one of the more popular podcasts of SoulVibe(s) series. We pick up right where we left off with poetry from LD Henriquez dropping knowledge about all of life’s many facets over beats from King I Divine. Old classics, reworked and laced with new beats by Tupac and Biggie Smalls share space on this mix with new song writers on the scene like Jesse Boykins III, Slakah the Beatchild, Little Simz, Tom Misch, Moko, and Akina Baraz.

Enjoy the mix and if you have any questions or comments concerning any artist on the podcast, please be sure to email me or leave a comment below. Be sure to check the back catalogue for the other mixes in my Soul Vibe(s) series.

Thank you again for checking out the latest installment of the Soulvibe(s) Podcast series - Sunday Brunch Vol. II

The End

This is my last post on tumblr. It’s been an awesome two years but everything must come to an end.

So to the painters, dancers, photographers, musicians, preachers, feminists, philosophers, writers, militants, strippers, poets, scientists, gadget heads, mechanics, architects, emos, hip-hop heads, collectors of kink, fortune tellers, friends, and lovers…

I wanted to take a moment and say goodbye to everyone that allowed me to curate and interpret their art into my own.

Common: I Used to Love H.E.R.

She was really the realest, before she got into showbiz

I did her, not just to say that I did it

But I’m committed, but so many niggas hit it

That she’s just not the same letting all these groupies do her

I see niggas slamming her, and taking her to the sewer

But I’mma take her back hoping that the shit stop

Cause who I’m talking bout y’all is hip-hop

James Douglas Morrison, American poet, born on this day in 1943. It’s hard for me to imagine the Jim Morrison who died at age twenty-seven as a seventy-year-old man.
